Valmalenco quarries

Quarries are the beating heart of our work and of Valmalenco economy. As a matter of fact, Valmalenco is on good grounds considered the stone mining valley par excellence. More than a thousand years ago, the inhabitants of the valley discovered the extraordinary qualities of local stone, which was greyish green and flaky, so that it could be split and used to cover roofs.

Sasso Corvi Quarry It is located in the area around Giovello and is the hub of our mining activity. It has been in use since the early seventies and has enabled us to meet our customers' needs in the best possible way. The stone extracted allows us to produce very thin serpentine slabs with a thickness of 1.2/1.5 cm.

Agnisci Quarry Opened in 2000, it is located in Agnisci.
This quarry produces serpentine stone to make slabs that are thicker than those of Sasso Corvi, about 2.5/3 cm. This different appearance compared to that of Sasso Corvi stone gives customers the opportunity to choose.
